Dr. Bahram Einollahi, Minister of Health, Treatment and Medical Education, together with Dr. Behrouz Rahimi, Deputy Minister of Management Development, Resources and Planning, Dr. Younes Panahi, Deputy Minister of Research and Technology, and Dr. Abbas Shiravjan, Deputy Minister of Student Affairs and Culture of the Ministry of Health, visited the production and research complex of the Pasteur Institute of Iran on September 20 to inspect the stages of construction and completion of the infrastructure and national projects of polysaccharide (pneumococcus) and tetanus vaccines, the Salman Farsi building project under construction and the laboratory with safety level 3 (BSL3), and the production lines of vaccines and recombinant products based on animal cells and rabies of the Pasteur Institute of Iran. Based on scientific and technical knowledge and valuable experiences of the past years, the Pasteur Institute of Iran plans and operates in order to play a more constructive role in the prevention and control of infectious diseases in the field of expanding its product portfolio, and the continuous quantitative and qualitative increase of products, including vaccines, is one of the permanent policies of this institute. With the addition of the capacity of the BSL3 laboratory, which will be the largest such diagnostic laboratory in the country, it will be possible to conduct advanced research and diagnose high-risk infectious agents that cause new and re-emerging diseases at the Pasteur Institute of Iran, so that the country's health system can respond to the needs of society with greater power and capacity in epidemics similar to the Corona. The Salman Farsi Building and Sensitive BSL3 Laboratories project is designed for the first time in the country by Pirraz Consulting Engineers and is being implemented under the workshop supervision of these consulting engineers.
